We have two games Saturday, both at TCC Chesapeake (Field 4). Game times are 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. (please arrive by 7:30). The fields are beside the TCC campus . . . You turn in at the light on Bells Mill Road (do not go onto the TCC campus entrance).

We will wear white jerseys for the first game and blue jerseys for game two. Please bring both jerseys and sock colors to both games, since it is possible we would have to change colors as the home team.

Continue to ask your neighbors, family and friends to do the scratcher fundraiser. Please bring any money you have collected to practice (even if you have not "sold out" your card). We also have more cards if anyone needs them.

Friday Practice and Saturday Game

Friday's practice will be held at Sparrow Road Intermediate again this week (Sept. 19) at 6 p.m..

Saturday's game is at Hodges Manor Field 2 at 2 p.m. (arrive by 1:30). The fields are located behind Hodges Manor Elementary School (1201 Cherokee Road, Portsmouth, VA 23701). Wear blue jerseys and black socks.

Game One

The Monarchs had their first game of the season against the NUSC Tigers yesterday. It was much anticipated, as our first scheduled game of the season was postponed due to hurricane effected weather.

The players and parents (I think the parents a little more than the kids) were so pumped up that even the oppressive heat didn't deter big family support on the sidelines and big play and awesome teamwork during the game. The final score was 8 to 2. We look forward to taking on the Portsmouth Swat next weekend. The kids will have practice this week Tuesday and Friday to prepare for this tough opponent, and us parents will spend the week praying for cool temps. on next weekends forecast.

Rain Game

ODU Soccer Outing

Our Monarchs will be the "Soccer Ball Kids" at the ODU vs. Central Florida soccer game.

• Sunday, Sept. 14
• Arrive at the ODU Soccer Stadium by 2 p.m.
• Players wear their jerseys
• Players are free; Adults buy a $5 game ticket.

As always, we can coordinate rides if anyone needs one.
